In Hong Kong, there is lots to do outside, much to our surprise and delight.  The first thing that caught our attention was the really dramatic night-time skyline.  Each night at 7pm, there is a laser-light show with music that you can view from the shores of Kowloon.   It is really cool-looking:

But you can also go up a cable car to the top of one of Hong Kong Island’s hills, and watch the same show from above:

We were up there for the Mid-Autumn festival and had delicious noodles and moon cake while atop the hill.  The next day we decided to see the backside of Hong Kong Island, a nice area with hilltop hiking trails and a few beach towns.

Last, but not least, was the fabulous Fire Dragon Dance, where a long ‘dragon’ was carried on sticks by 30-50 people, with tons of incense sticking out of it, burning, casting off great quantities of smoke:

Needless to say, it was hard to get pictures because it was so dark, so crowded, and moving nonstop.  We had a great time though and were lucky enough to find a place that the dragon went right by!
