We were sad that the dance camp was over, but not for long because the next leg of our trip was one that we were really looking forward to!  One of my close friends from high school is living in Helsinki, Finland with her boyfriend and we got to go and see her!!!  But this post isn’t about that yet because we had several bus rides, a subway ride, and an overnight ferry to take in order to get there.  We left Herrang in the morning after the camp was over and arrived in Helsinki about 24 hours later.

Excited to go and see my friend!!!

The ferry was not quite what I had pictured.  I knew that people take it as a kind of party boat, but I didn’t expect a full on cruise ship.  It was enormous!  We got shared cabins and in this case it meant we had to sleep in different rooms.  There were four people to a room and each room had a small bathroom with a shower.  Pretty comfy.

The scenery was incredibly beautiful.  There are lots of little islands off the coast of Sweden and many of them have houses and boats and generally look like they would be great places for a vacation.  We were feeling fairly tired after all of our dancing, so we started the trip with a quick nap and then went up on deck to eat the picnic we had brought with us.

As we were sitting outside drinking our wine we made friends with a guy from Finland who wanted to chat.  We ended up staying up much later than expected talking with him.  He was really into roller coasters, and had even traveled to New Jersey just to go on the largest roller coaster in the world.

We had a fun night and loved seeing the Baltic Sea.  And when we woke up the next morning it was time to see Tania!
