Because we were already heading to upstate New York for my sister’s graduation from Cornell Vet, Hazel and I thought it’d be fun to go up to see Niagara Falls. Â Even Dad hadn’t ever been there! Â So we packed up the car with the four of us (Mom, Dad, Hazel and me) and the dog Izsak. Â Mom found a neat place called the Grand Canyon (of Pennsylvania) that is about halfway (4 hours drive) from Marlton to Niagara and we had a nice little stop there complete with hiking:
Okay, so it’s no Grand Canyon of Arizona, and it’s not as deep as Colca Canyon in Peru, but it really is a uniquely beautiful landscape. Â Appalachian mountain country is really stunning with its rolling hills completely covered in trees. Â We had a good time and a great break from a long drive all the way to Canada.
Mom and dad also did some tricks with the dog!
After that, we packed up and drove the rest of the way up to Niagara. Â On the way, we found some delicious ice cream and really good sandwiches!
All in all we left home at 9am and arrived at around 7pm. Â No issues crossing the border — we were worried about bringing the dog but he was not even an issue for the border officers. Â More on what we did in Niagara proper later!
